There are several distinct visual motifs represented in this series as well as a few odds and ends in the form of commission work produced in this same period. "New Grass" is a series of self portraits of my feet, an often overlooked and underappreciated part of the body. My concern with this work is on the ideal rather than emotional or psychological accuracy. I see these paintings as "sign posts" pointing the way towards higher aspirations.
